Art history is replete with examples of master artists who were spurned by society \u2013 they achieved recognition and fame only after death.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Over time, the merits of art have been acknowledged by educators and therapists. Art is a great way to calm yourself and decrease stress levels. Therapists like Alain De Botton and John Armstrong claim that art helps us grow and evolve in our understanding of ourselves, others and the world we live in. There is much that we can learn through art. Personally, here is how I evolved through my journey as an artist.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/section>\n<section class=\"elementor-section elementor-top-section elementor-element elementor-element-6bf6e07 elementor-section-boxed elementor-section-height-default elementor-section-height-default\" data-id=\"6bf6e07\" data-element_type=\"section\">\n<div class=\"elementor-container elementor-column-gap-default\">\n<div class=\"elementor-row\">\n<div class=\"elementor-column elementor-col-100 elementor-top-column elementor-element elementor-element-e715006\" data-id=\"e715006\" data-element_type=\"column\">\n<div class=\"elementor-column-wrap elementor-element-populated\">\n<div class=\"elementor-widget-wrap\">\n<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-139b613 elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"139b613\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n<div class=\"elementor-text-editor elementor-clearfix\">\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Art helped me revisit and take note of ordinary things like dewdrops glistening on the petals of flowers or the lurid colours of the sunset \u2013 to see the beauty in something as ordinary as a street-scene. Art is synonymous with appreciation \u2013 it isn\u2019t about what you look at, it\u2019s about what you see.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>\u00a0When viewing an image of something I have not personally experienced or an emotion that I don\u2019t have a personal context of, the image stays with me \u2013 I process it, experience and empathise with the emotion.\u00a0<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>\u00a0Art is a language through which we can express thoughts and feelings which we cannot articulate in words. A picture is worth a thousand words. When I create a painting, I set free that which is within me by bringing it out into the world and \u00a0giving expression to it on a canvas.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/section>\n<section class=\"elementor-section elementor-top-section elementor-element elementor-element-4a4a5a5 elementor-section-boxed elementor-section-height-default elementor-section-height-default\" data-id=\"4a4a5a5\" data-element_type=\"section\">\n<div class=\"elementor-container elementor-column-gap-default\">\n<div class=\"elementor-row\">\n<div class=\"elementor-column elementor-col-100 elementor-top-column elementor-element elementor-element-74de732\" data-id=\"74de732\" data-element_type=\"column\">\n<div class=\"elementor-column-wrap elementor-element-populated\">\n<div class=\"elementor-widget-wrap\">\n<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-3de063b elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"3de063b\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n<div class=\"elementor-text-editor elementor-clearfix\">\n<ul>\n<li>Art helps you focus on the essence of a scene. The artistic eye homes in on the most memorable and essential elements of a scene, be they the energy or emotions around the scene. I once attended a mesmerising Sufi concert at a heritage monument in Delhi. The haunting, soulful music and \u201cRumi-esque\u201d energy of the performers, stayed with me and compelled me to create the series of paintings titled \u201cFrom The Realm Of The Heart\u2019, (featured in my <a href=\"https:\/\/www.etsy.com\/shop\/RengeBySabrina\">Etsy \u00a0Store <\/a>and\n<p>http:\/\/sabrinagill.in\/) <a href=\"http:\/\/sabrinagill.in\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/08\/B9815076-03DF-457E-B1AD-A81098450DD1-70a6104e.jpeg\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"attachment-thumbnail size-thumbnail\" src=\"http:\/\/sabrinagill.in\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/08\/B9815076-03DF-457E-B1AD-A81098450DD1-70a6104e-150x150.jpeg\" alt=\"\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Art is a way of recording beautiful moments and memories.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<div>\u00a0<\/div>\n<ul>\n<li>Most of all, Art is my way of keeping my head on my shoulders and keeping my balance. As it is said, \u201cIn the middle of chaos, there is creativity\u201d. Art is my way of healing my self, dealing with overwhelming, stressful situations and keeping myself centered<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<div>\n<p>As Salvador Dali once said, \u201cNo masterpiece was ever created by a lazy person\u201d. In defence of myself and my fellow artists, artists are risk-takers, problem solvers who are consumed with beauty.
